Stacking Up- How to choose the Perfect Wedding Bands
While marriage is a moment that many couples choose as a hallmark event to celebrate their love and commitment, the customs of a wedding are opening up and allowing couples to put their own unique and meaningful interpretations to the tradition.
When it comes to wedding bands, many are seeking a wedding band that is as beautiful and unique as their own love story. Here are some of the ways that we have worked with our customers to create unique wedding bands.
More specifically, set up an appointment with your jeweler before you decide what you want. This is an important step. As custom jewelers, we can take whatever vision you have and offer additional insights to bring your wedding bands to life.
This also gives you the opportunity to try different metals. Do you want platinum or rose gold? Do you want a two-toned metal? While you may have decided in your mind what you want, trying different bands may make you realize that you want something else. For instance, I recently had a couple who came in knowing they wanted rose gold wedding bands. Once they tried them on, the rose gold really suited one but not the other. After a little back and forth the couple decided on one rose gold and one yellow gold band. The set looked stunning together and individually on each person.
Also, ask to see different gem stones in a variety of cuts. Placing the stone to your hand or seeing it in your setting gives you a more intimate experience. One of our brides hadn’t seen a rose cut diamond. She fell in love with the way the cut picks up light. Additionally, roses are her favorite flower and she just loved that the cut was the same name. Again, keeping the experience of designing your wedding band personal can add layers of meaning and intimacy to the band.

One of the options we love to give our clients is to add texture to your wedding band by selecting a hand etching option. This gives texture to your ring. Choose something meaningful to you. The ocean was an important piece of the love story of one of our couples. Their first trip together early in their romance was a beachside vacation, and they spend each summer together in the Hamptons creating a lot of important moments by the ocean. Noting this, for the wedding band we selected a wavy hand etching. The unique wedding band design stood out and tied back to their love story. Shop our Wave Band here.
