Jeweler Offers Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce a Million Dollar Ring
That's a bit more than a “Paper Ring”
According to multiple news outlets, a jeweler in Philadelphia recently offered Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce a one million dollar engagement ring. I mean, sure, Jason Kelce, Travis’s brother, plays for the Philadelphia Eagles, but that’s a stretch even for rabid football fandom. It turns out that this jeweler’s daughter is actually a huge Swiftie, which prompted the generous offer.
What Would a Million Dollar Ring Look Like?
If and when Taylor and Travis get engaged, I am pretty sure they will purchase a ring of their own, but it did lead me to wonder what kind of ring they would choose. Would Taylor prefer something that evokes old Hollywood glamor, perhaps a gorgeous Art Deco solitaire to complement that “red-lip classic thing” that she likes? Or would Travis select something more modern and contemporary with clean lines and an emphasis on the pure beauty of geometry? Or does he have his Grandmother Kelce’s ring stashed away somewhere, waiting for the perfect moment to pop the question? Maybe he will suggest she get a more substantial ring to match his Superbowl rings? Or would he, as is currently being speculated, reuse some of the diamonds from one of his Championship rings to craft his engagement ring for Taylor? The mind boggles.
Big Money Means Big Decisions.
Hey, when it comes to crafting that perfect engagement ring, working with a certified gemologist and jeweler is key. If I got the chance to design a ring for Taylor Swift, I'd handle it like I do for all my custom jewelry clients. First up, a cozy one-on-one to chat about their fave materials and styles - like platinum or gold, setting preferences, and stones. If they're repurposing diamonds from another piece, I'd check out the original and figure out the best way to showcase those stones. Some folks even bring in family heirlooms to give them a fresh look in an engagement ring! Then, it's all about getting those precise measurements for a comfy fit and discussing how band width and thickness play into everyday wear. Next, I'd whip up a unique design incorporating any special symbols that matter to them, plus chat about engraving ideas like the day they met or sweet nicknames. Oh, and let's not forget about the groom - we can design his wedding band to match the bride's set or even throw in some custom cufflinks for a dapper touch to his tuxedo. Everyone deserves a bit of bling on their big day, right? 😉
With all of that in mind, there are some current trends in Engagement and Bridal Jewelry that Taylor, Travis, and anyone in love should consider.
Three Stones: For the romantic dreamer, these designs showcase three distinct stones: one symbolizing the past, one representing the present, and the final one embodying the future.
Mixed Metals: Yellow gold inset with white gold, yellow gold wraps on a platinum band - mixed metal accents are currently trending and offer the flexibility to enhance a diverse range of jewelry pieces.
Non-Diamond: Whether it's a diamond-free ring or a sentimental choice like a birthstone surrounded by diamonds, these "alternative" rings are revolutionizing the scene.
Horizontal Settings: Also called “east-west” rings, these bold pieces take classic shapes like radiant, emerald, and oval-cut diamonds and turn their traditional vertical sets into horizontal features that lay across the finger.
Statement Bands: These larger, more substantial bands can be a single ring or a stack and can be adorned with gems or just beautifully worked metal rings.
Heirloom Makeovers: - Taking a piece (or two) of family jewelry to create an entirely new ring. Maybe you inherited your grandmother’s gorgeous vintage diamond earrings, and you’d love to make them into a beautiful engagement ring and wedding ring. A qualified jewelry designer can assist!
“Surprise” Rings: These rings have a hidden detail that isn’t visible at first glance, like a diamond halo hidden under the center stone or an inset birthstone inside the band! These rings are a conversation starter.
So even if you like shiny things (and who doesn’t?) And you’d marry your love with paper rings… when it comes to your engagement, you and your fiance have many beautiful options! I’d love to meet with you to create a custom ring as unique as your relationship and as long-lasting as your love for each other. To make an appointment for a design consultation, click here.
